Corey Feldman Slams Matt Lauer Over Sexual Misconduct Scandal: 'He Is the Problem'
Celebrity

'He is the problem. Not him, but he epitomizes the problem,' the actor criticized the disgraced anchor during his appearance in Monday, December 11 episode of 'The Dr. Oz Show'.

AceShowbiz - Corey Feldman publicly condemned Matt Lauer during his appearance on "The Dr. Oz Show" on Monday, December 11. The 46-year-old slammed the former "Today" co-host, who was recently hit by multiple sexual harassment allegations, as well as recalled his feeling when Lauer pressed him in an October interview on the NBC show.

"When I sat down with Matt, it was like being grilled," Feldman spoke of the aforementioned interview, in which he discussed the alleged sexual abuse which he experienced as a child actor in Hollywood. "So much so that at one point he said to me, 'We've been down this road, Corey' ... I was really blown away. I was taken aback. Where do you get the audacity to come at me?"

"The Fox and the Hound" voice actor, who was one of the first celebrities to respond to Matt's firing from "Today" late last month, went on saying, "So when this came out that he himself was a predator, it made perfect sense to me."

"He is the problem. Not him, but he epitomizes the problem," the actor continued his criticism towards the disgraced anchor. "The way he behaved is a perfect example of the hierarchy and the mental abuse, the shaming, the power play of 'I'm bigger than you' ... that's what this is about. And that's exactly how these predators get over on these victims."

During his "Today" appearance, Feldman promoted a $10 million fund-raiser for a film that he vows will expose a pedophilia ring in Hollywood. Lauer, however, appeared to bombard him with a slew of skeptical questions as he asked Feldman why he opted to make a movie instead of reporting it to the police.

Feldman did take the claims to the police. In fact, last week, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office confirmed that they'd found audio files of an interview taken in 1993 which featured Feldman naming his abusers.

"I wake up in the morning to Google Alerts that say Santa Barbara police found the tape," Feldman revealed on "The Dr. Oz Show". "I thought that [Dr. Oz] called the Santa Barbara police and told them, 'Hey, we've got the tapes.' I could not believe for a second that the exact same day, within 24 hours of me finding my copy, they found their copy and they went to the press."
