Following the shocking twist in the series' midseason finale, William Riggs wrote in a now-deleted Facebook post that he never trusted Gimple or AMC even though his son did.

AceShowbiz - The latest shocker in midseason finale of "The Walking Dead" season 8 didn't only leave a bad taste in fans' mouth. The father of star Chandler Riggs is one of those who's still reeling over the shocking revelation that [SPOILER ALERT!] Chandler's character Carl Grimes was about to die after being bitten by the walkers in the ribs.

Shortly after the episode which was titled "How It's Gotta Be" aired, William Riggs took to his Facebook page to express his rage over the AMC show's decision to kill off his son's character. "Watching [showrunner Scott M.] Gimple fire my son 2 weeks before his 18th birthday after telling him they wanted him for the next 3 years was disappointing," William wrote in the now-deleted post.

He went on slamming Gimple and the network, saying that he "never trusted" them even though his son did. "I know how much it hurt him. But we do absolutely know how lucky we have been to be a part of it all and appreciate all the fans all these years!" he concluded.

Chandler previously shared that exiting the show wasn't his decision, but rather due to "story-related" reason. "I was planning on going to college until I found out. I found out when I was doing rehearsals for episode six back in June. It was quite the shocker for me, Andy [Andrew Lincoln] and everyone because I don't think anyone saw it coming," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "It's definitely not a bad thing because it has been awesome being on the show but now I get to go and do a lot of other stuff that I haven't gotten to do before. Scott wanted to meet in person because it was such a big deal. We had just finished rehearsing for a scene in episode six and he wanted to meet with me and my mom and dad and talk about what's going to happen."

He also revealed in the interview that he'd just purchased a house in Senoia, Ga., close to the show's sets. "It was devastating for me and my family because the show has been such a huge part of my life for so long. For a few days, we didn't know what to do," added Chandler, who's working on his next project, the indie film "Inherit the Viper". "It ended up being a great thing because now I get to do all kinds of other stuff that I haven't been able to do in the last eight years."

The midseason finale didn't feature the death of Rick Grimes' teenage son, though his death most likely will be featured when the zombie apocalypse drama returns on February 25 at 9 P.M. on AMC.
