Police confirm they received a call from a pub reporting an assault and brought the singer, who was drunk, in to the Gangnam branch of the Seoul police.

AceShowbiz - It seems that trouble won't keep away from Super Junior's members. After the dog bite scandal that forced Choi Siwon to be left out of the group's promotions for their new album "PLAY", another member, Kangin, was recently arrested for alleged assault.

Police confirm they received a call from a pub on early Friday, November 17 at 4:30 A.M. KST reporting that Kangin assaulted his girlfriend at the pub. They brought in the 32-year-old singer to the Gangnam branch of the Seoul police after receiving the call, but later he was released as the victim did not formally press charges.

A representative from police says, "A police call claiming that Kangin assaulted his girlfriend came in early this morning. However, the case was resolved as the victim did not wish for legal punishment. It is unclear whether or not the victim was his girlfriend. Kangin has been released from police with a warning." He was reportedly drunk when the alleged assault took place.

In South Korea, if the victim of assault cases does not wish to have the assailant punished legally, the case comes to a close.

Super Junior's label SM Entertainment says regarding the assault reports, "We are currently looking into the situation."

Kangin has been previously arrested for driving under the influence twice. He has been inactive and not included in any of Super Junior's promotional activities since his last DUI case in May 2016.

Super Junior is currently promoting their new album with six members, Leeteuk, Kim Heechul, Shindong, Yesung, Choi Siwon and Eunhyuk, after Siwon's family dog bit and caused the death of a neighbor. Ryeowook and Kyuhyun are currently serving in military, while Sungmin is not participating in the group's activities following backlash from fans, mainly due to his sudden marriage.

When Super Junior recently appeared on "Weekly Idol", Leeteuk poked fun at the absence of some of their group mates. "We don't know how many members we have either," he jokingly said.
