AceShowbiz - USA Network's "Suits" may be losing its main couple. Both Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle reportedly will leave the legal drama after 6-episode season 7, which is set to air in early 2018.
According to Deadline, the contracts for the two stars will conclude after season 7. With that being said, both Patrick and Meghan will fulfill their current obligations before exiting. However, it seems like losing two stars won't stop "Suits" from going beyond season 7. While season 8 has not officially been ordered by the network, the site says a renewal is likely.
Both Patrick and Meghan star on the popular legal drama since the premiere of the series in 2011. Patrick plays a genius college drop-out Mike Ross, while the girlfriend of Prince Harry portrays Rachel Zane, a paralegal-turned-lawyer at the show's law firm who is engaged to marry Mike.
Thanks to his excellent performance in the first season of the series, Patrick snagged an SAG Award nomination. In addition to starring, Patrick has directed some episodes, including the 100th one which aired in September. There has been rumor swirling around for the past few months, saying that newly-wed Patrick is considering a next chapter in his career this past summer.
Meanwhile, Meghan's alleged decision to exit from Aaron Korsh's show arrives amid rumors of her and Prince Harry's engagement. "Meghan knows she can't really act at the same time as being a princess," a source previously said, before adding, "[She] is happy to make this career sacrifice." Another source shared, "She really enjoys her charity work with UNICEF and will broaden out her charity commitments when she becomes a full-time royal."
Creator Korsh previously teased that Mike and Rachel's long-postponed wedding would be featured in the upcoming season 7. Should Patrick and Meghan depart from the show, they will be the latest series regulars to exit after Gina Torres, who left last year.
