Meghan Markle to Exit 'Suits' for Prince Harry

'Meghan knows she can't really act at the same time as being a princess,' a source reveals, adding that the 36-year-old actress won't return for season 8.
Meghan Markle is said to be seriously considering to give up her career amid rumors that she will announce her engagement to Prince Harry by Christmas. A new report suggests that the Toronto-based actress will not be returning for the eight season of USA Network's "Suits".

"Meghan knows she can't really act at the same time as being a princess," a source says, before adding, "[She] is happy to make this career sacrifice."

"She really enjoys her charity work with UNICEF and will broaden out her charity commitments when she becomes a full-time royal," shares the source.

Should the report be true, the decision is not coming from out of left field. "Meghan loved playing Rachel and feels she owes so much to 'Suits'. But Harry can't move to Toronto, so she'll have to move eventually if they want to be together," said a source previously. "Her decision to give up the biggest role of her career would mean a lot."

Meghan has been with the legal drama since 2011, portraying Rachel Elizabeth Zane, a part-time summer associate at Pearson Specter Litt. Rachel is a former paralegal who is currently engaged to Patrick J. Adams' Mike Ross.

The exiting report came after Harry reportedly had quietly popped the question to the 36-year-old actress and it could only be a matter of time before the royal couple would announce their engagement. Another source previously revealed that they would make the announcement in November, once Meghan finishes filming season 7 of "Suits".

Harry and Meghan reportedly would follow in Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton's footsteps by holding "a small photo call at Kensington Palace, with just one photographer and journalist invited." The source added that on the same day, they most likely would "do a TV interview that will be syndicated around the world." While palace aides were being kept in the dark on the engagement, it was said that "these things are planned early in advance."
