The pair 'were holding hands and he'd put his hand on her back when she was walking ahead of him' during a date at an art gallery on Monday.

AceShowbiz - Romance between Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus continues to heat up. The pair were spotted spending the weekend together by shopping for artwork together at a New York City gallery on Monday, October 9.

Clad in a casual navy long-sleeved jumper, the Batman depicter looked so happy as he was all smiles during the date with the "Saturday Night Live" producer. Ben, who recently was spotted entering outpatient treatment center to seek further medical treatment for his alcoholism, paired the top with a pair of khaki pants and sneakers. The 45-year-old actor/director kept his aviator glasses on his tee.

Lindsay also looked equally casual in a black-and-white striped tee, which she teamed with jeans and a pair of Converse high top sneakers. Unlike her boyfriend, Lindsay wore her sunglasses on her head.

"They were holding hands and he'd put his hand on her back when she was walking ahead of him. They were very affectionate and comfortable with one another," an eyewitness told Entertainment Tonight. The eyewitness added, "It seemed as though Lindsay was doing the shopping, but everything she was considering buying, she looked to Ben for his opinion."

Ben reportedly "had his iPhone camera out and was taking pictures of her and the art." The eyewitness concluded, "It was a very casual, down-to-earth date. They were like any other couple checking out a gallery."

Prior to this, Ben showed his support to his girlfriend by paying a visit to her work place. The "Justice League" star dropped by the "SNL" studios on Saturday evening. Ben opted for a low-key look as he donned a light blue leather jacket over a dark blue shirt and jeans.

The ex-husband of Jennifer Garner, who just finished his rehab stint seven months ago, was spotted arriving at an outpatient treatment in L.A. earlier this month. According to a source, Ben's "drinking has gotten worse" as he "is spiraling out of control."

The source continued saying that "people are urging him to go into inpatient rehab," before adding, "He knows he needs to check back into rehab. The problem is that he wants to go on his terms. He wants to do it on his time, but like most addicts, that time keeps getting put off. This relapse has gone on too long already."
