On Monday, August 28, Brandon Jones was sentenced to 180 days in jail for misdemeanor assault involving a firearm in his gun case. He was reportedly pointing a gun at a neighbor.
According to TMZ, the Los Angeles County District Attorney confirmed that the actor, who had a recurring role on Freeform's "Pretty Little Liars", pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of assault with a firearm. The report further suggested that Brandon was originally sentenced to five and a half years in prison.
In addition to 180 days in jail, Brandon was sentenced to three years of probation with 30 days of community labor. Brandon is also required to take 26 anger management courses, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said in a statement.
According to prosecutors, the 28-year-old actor revealed a concealed handgun during a dispute with a neighbor at his North Hills home on October 30, 2015. The actor also allegedly brandished a knife and pointed a handgun at a neighbor during another argument.
His legal team reasoned that the gun he had was fully legal and registered. In addition, his legal team said that Brandon felt that he was under threat during the dispute with his neighbors.
On "Pretty Little Liars", Brandon portrayed a character named Andrew Campbell. First introduced in season 3, Andrew once dated Lucy Hale's Aria Montgomery. Brandon's credits also include "The Fosters", "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "2 Broke Girls". He has a recurring role as Liam Olmstead on "The Fosters", while guest-starring as Jebadiah on CBS' "2 Broke Girls".
