Meek Mill is currently in police custody after being arrested on Thursday, August 17 for wild dirt bike stunt in New York City. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that the rapper was charged with reckless endangerment after a video, which found him disobeying "many New York City traffic laws," surfaced online.

The "Litty" spitter was allegedly putting "himself and others at great risk of injury" with the wild stunt. He was riding without helmet and popping wheelies in Inwood on Wednesday at about 8:23 P.M., according to police.

Meek was arrested at around 11 P.M. on the corner of 110th Avenue and Dyckman Street in the Inwood section of Manhattan after police watched the video online. Some fans recorded the arrest on Instagram Live and posted it on social media.

One of the footage videos saw Meek asking, "What I do?" One of the police officers then said, "You weren't riding on a motorcycle yesterday? Yesterday, right? I got pictures of you, I got videos of you running up and down." Meek replied, "I just came from a basketball game. I just want to know my rights."

Meek's lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, claimed the rapper was being singled out because of his celebrity status. "That level of investigation is normally reserved for heinous crimes, not for petty offenses like doing a wheelie on the street where you're endangering no one's life but your own," he said.

"It really stinks of obvious targeting an individual who is a celebrity and maybe who law enforcement don't like, and it's not what the system is supposed to be about," Joseph further explained. "If his name was John Smith, he wouldn't have even been arrested. You could go to 110th St. and Dyckman right now and you'll se 10 kids popping wheelies on their bikes. Nobody gets arrested."
