Insiders say the 'I Just Wanna Dance' singer will be returning to the U.S. to study acting after Girls' Generation's 10th-anniversary promotions are over.

AceShowbiz - Tiffany (II) of Girls' Generation is reportedly planning to head back to the U.S. The 28-year-old singer, whose real name is Stephanie Young Hwang, is said to be leaving Korea to study acting abroad after Girls' Generation's 10th-anniversary promotions are over.

A so-called insider is quoted as saying, "Recently, Tiffany decided to study abroad in the U.S.A and told her friends so. She wanted to study acting, and her friends also supported her decision." It appears that the move will be temporary.

Responding to the rumor, SM Entertainment has said that studying acting is just one of many possible options, and that they "are discussing various things." Nothing has been confirmed as of now.

As reported before, members of Girls' Generation are currently in talks with SM Entertainment about renewing their contracts. The company said in a statement, "It's true that we are currently in the process of renewing our contracts with the members of Girls' Generation. The majority of the members have already renewed their contracts and we are in talks with the remaining members."

An insider is confident that all members will stay within the company. "Though we're still not sure if there will be any change, it seems as if they'll stay together as they've been doing well as a group for the past 10 years," the source said.

However, rumor about Tiffany studying abroad makes fans wonder if this means she will not renew her contract with SM Entertainment.

Girls' Generation was formed as a nine-piece girl group, with the members originally consisting of Tae Yeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Kwon Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, Seohyun and Jessica. They debuted in 2007 with their first single "Into the New World". In September 2014, Jessica departed from the group.

While several members of the group, like Yoona, Yuri and Sooyoung, have starred on a number of drama series, Tiffany has only landed cameo roles on KBS2's "Unstoppable Marriage" (2008) and KBS' "The Producers" (2015). She released her first solo album "I Just Wanna Dance" in 2016.
