Set to a calming rendition of Coldplay's 'Viva La Vida', the new trailer puts the importance of family for the characters front and center.

AceShowbiz - FOX's new mutant series "The Gifted" is not all about mutants as it also highlights the importance of family even when you are put in the worst situation possible. The sentiment is well shown in a newly released trailer, which sees the characters fighting together and willing to abandon what previously they think matters for family. Set to a calming rendition of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida", the trailer arrives following the San Diego Comic-Con trailer.

"Did you hear about the mutant incident? Those are my kids," Reed Strucker (Stephen Moyer) talks to Eclipse (Sean Teale) over the phone. Reed, who works for the Sentinel Services, turns his back on his company and goes on the run with his family as he discovers that his two children are manifesting mutant abilities.

The trailer, titled "Family Is the Ultimate Power", also highlights how the incident brings the mutants, who have been hiding all along in fear of the Sentinels, together. "The X-Men, the Brotherhood, we don't even know they exist anymore," Eclipse says. He is seeminly making an apparent attempt to convince Thunderbird (Blair Redford), Blink (Jamie Chung), Polaris (Emma Dumont) that Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White) are the only mutant family left for now.

In addition, FOX releases a slew of photos of the upcoming series. One photo features Polaris, a mutant who possesses a magnetic power, standing by a window. Another photo sees Caitlin (Amy Acker), the Strucker matriarch, together with Lauren and Andy. Eclipse can also be seen doing something to Reed's arm with his abilities to manipulate light and photons.

The other photos feature Thunderbird, Caitlin and Blink in individual portraits. Also featured in the newly-released photos are mutant siblings Lauren and Andy, Reed as well as Polaris, the daughter of Magneto, the master of Magnetism in the "X-Men" franchise.

"The Gifted" will premiere on Monday, October 2 at 9 P.M. on FOX.
