Lauren Conrad and lawyer husband William Tell welcomed their bundle of joy on July 5, and the 31-year-old actress has finally shared the first photos of the baby boy. Obtained by PEOPLE, one of the photos features the couple cradling the little boy, named Liam.

Speaking to the webloid, Conrad recalls, "Before the delivery, I felt like I was getting ready for a blind date." She says that she and her husband "considered doing the 4D ultrasound but then decided to wait. I just remember thinking he was so cute - and I was surprised by how tiny he was."

"I was convinced I was having a giant baby, to the point where I didn't even buy newborn clothes - in my head he was 9 lbs.," the former "The Hills" star says of baby Liam, who was born weighing 6 lbs., 14 oz.

She also reveals that she opted to find out the gender of her baby before he was born as she doesn't really love surprises. She tells the webloid, "I like to have all the information. And I was sharing my body with someone - so I wanted to know as much as possible about him."

Conrad, who married James in September 2014 in California, adds that she "always hoped I would have a boy" because "boys are so fun." She shares, "I was a tomboy, and I always play best with boys. When we found out, I was so excited."
