As promised, Demi Lovato released her lead single off her upcoming album on Tuesday midnight, July 11. Titled "Sorry Not Sorry", the anthemic song finds Demi in a battle-mode, boasting about her success to her haters. We can also see the songstress' musical development in the R&B-infused song.

"Now I'm out her looking like revenge/ Feelin' like a 10, the best I ever been/ And yeah, I know how bad it must hurt/ To see me like this but it gets worse (wait a minute)/ Now you're out her looking like regret/ Ain't too proud to beg, second chance you'll never get/ And yeah, I know how bad it must hurt to see me like this/ But it gets worse," the former Disney star sings.

" 'Sorry Not Sorry' is a song to the haters that is basically saying, 'You know what? I'm good now. And sorry I'm not sorry that you may not be loving where your life is at the moment,' " Demi told Amazon Music. "A lot of people hear the song and they think it's about an ex-boyfriend or something like that, but it's actually just a song about the haters."

Shortly after the release of "Sorry Not Sorry", Demi took to Twitter to tease fans about a music video for the track. "It's not as intense as you think it is. It's a lighthearted song, and so the video is going to be lighthearted, too," she said. "You don't want it too seem angsty. You don't want it to seem angry by any means. So, the video is going to be a giant house party. I threw a house party a couple months ago, and it ended up being so random and so much fun, and we want to recreate that for the video."
