Is there something going on between Katy Perry and Niall Horan? Niall jokingly said that Katy needed to stop being mean to him after the "Chained to the Rhythm" singer recently revealed that the One Direction member always tried to flirt with her.
Niall responded to Katy's claim by saying that he only wanted to be her friend. "Katy, please stop being mean to me," Niall joked during an appearance on Australian TV show, "The Project", on Thursday, June 29. "She's just finding any excuse now to just patronize me and go around spreading rumors about me. I just want to be your friend!" he exclaimed, before adding, "I mean, she is talking like she is about 55 years older than me. She is not that much older than me."
Katy previously talked about her friendship with Niall during an appearance on Australian radio show "Fitzy & Wippa" on Wednesday, June 28. She shared that she felt connected to the "This Town" singer. "Niall's amazing. I love him, and I think we feel very connected in a way because I, like, have helped him get through 'The X Factor' to join his group," she revealed. "He's become a big star and I'm like, 'Cool, I guess that means I have taste?' I don't know what that means."
She then claimed that he always tried to flirt with her despite their 9-year age gap. "I see him around all the time," she continued. "He's always trying to like, get my number, to like, maybe flirt with me, but I'm like, 'I could babysit you. I'm like your mom!' "
