AceShowbiz - Along with a slew of celebrities, Ben Affleck made an appearance on NBC's Red Nose Day Special on Thursday, May 25, to raise money for children around the world. The Batman depicter answered kids' questions in a comedy sketch and later was asked by a kid to do the Batman voice.
Unfortunately, when Affleck did his Batman voice, the kid was shutting him down by asking him to do it the way Christian Bale did instead. As we have known, Bale portrayed the Caped Crusader in Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" (2005), "The Dark Knight" (2008) and "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012).
The video from the special has arrived online, featuring the kid asking Affleck to do the Batman voice. "Your wish is my command," Affleck answered by lowering his voice, just like what he did when he played Batman. The kid replied, "No! Do it the way Christian Bale does it."
While looking a bit stressed out, Affleck still managed to stay cool. He repeated his previous remark and tried to imitate Bale's voice. It didn't make the boy happier, however, as the kid said that maybe he just wanted Bale to do it himself. "Well, he's not available so...," said Affleck with a grimace.
Earlier on, Affleck told PEOPLE that doing his Batman voice in the special would be fun. "I'm doing my Batman voice. No cowl-just the stripped-down, unplugged version," said Affleck. He added, "It's a lot of fun. Batman is such a serious, heavy character, there is the temptation to be funny about it, or at least self-aware. I really enjoy it. Obviously it is a character that means a lot to a lot of people and I'm having fun playing it."
Affleck will reprise his role as Batman in superhero team-up movie "Justice League". The movie is set to hit U.S. theaters on November 17.
