Sylvester Stallone and Jackie Chan will star opposite each other in action thriller "Ex-Baghdad". The movie, which will be directed by Scott Waugh, has a budget of $80 million and is said to be one of the biggest budget films for a Chinese production.
Chan will produce the movie through his company SR Media along with Qi Jianhong, Hans Canosa and Talent International's Esmond Ren. The project will target international audiences, with Chan being one of the most recognizable action stars in global scale.
According to Deadline, "Ex-Baghdad" will follow Chinese private security contractor (Chan), who is called in to escort oil workers to safety zone after a China-run oil refinery in Mosul, Iraq is attacked. "He learns, however, that the attackers' real plan is to steal a fortune in oil, and teams up with an American former Marine (Stallone) to stop them."
Chan will lend his voice to Sensei Wu in "The Lego Ninjago Movie". He will also has a voice role in "The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature". Chan reportedly will reprise his role as Lee in potential "Rush Hour 4", but it remains to be seen if the report is true.
Stallone was last seen in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" as Stakar Ogord. His upcoming movies include "Escape Plan 2", "Idol's Eye" and "Animal Crackers". Stallone will also star in "Scarpa", a biopic of former capo Gregory Scarpa.
