AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. has announced via a press release that DC's "Aquaman" has begun its production. "Aquaman" official logo has also been revealed, depicting the iconic Trident and completed with bold white lettering.
The press release reads, "Principal photography has begun on Warner Bros. Pictures' action adventure 'Aquaman', helmed by James Wan ('The Conjuring' films, 'Furious 7'). %cJason Momoa% stars in the title role, returning to the character he plays in this fall's 'Justice League'."
The press release announces that the filming will take place "mainly in locations spanning the stunning Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia, with extensive filming to be accomplished at Village Roadshow Studios." It will also be set in Newfoundland, Sicily and Tunisia.
Director James Wan has also shared a photo from the filming set, announcing the beginning of the production. "Months of intensive prep have led to this. Here we go. #DayOne #Ahab," he writes.
"Aquaman" follows the story of Arthur Curry, a half-man and half-Atlantean who leads Atlantic Ocean and tries to gain his glory. Enters his half brother, Orm (%cPatrick Wilson%), who is as powerful and creating a hindrance that puts everything in havoc. Aquaman is obliged to prevent his evil half-brother from snatching his empire of high seas.
Also starring in Aquaman are %cNicole Kidman% (Atlanna), %cAmber Heard% (Mera), %cWillem Dafoe% (Nuidis Vulko), %cTemuera Morrison% (Thomas Curry), %cYahya Abdul-Mateen II% (Black Manta) and %cDolph Lundgren% (King Nereus).
"Aquaman" is set to hit U.S. theaters on December 21, 2018.
