During 'The Graham Norton Show', the singer was confronted about the rumors, but he kept a straight face and didn't confirm or deny them.

AceShowbiz - The untitled stand-alone Star Wars film II has found its young Han Solo in Alden Ehrenreich, but recent rumor said that, before Ehrenreich, there was a certain One Direction member who was once considered for the role. It was said that Harry Styles was eyed to play the smuggler, but he just couldn't make it due to his busy schedule.

Recently, host Graham Norton from "The Graham Norton Show" tried to confront Styles about the rumor. Instead of confirming or denying it, the singer only kept a straight face and shook his head, but he let a smile slip onto his face. The people on the show later took his gesture as a yes.

The rumor that Styles auditioned as Han Solo stemmed from a report obtained by Metro U.K. A source told Metro U.K. that "Harry was one of the early names in contention when the studio looked at Han Solo. Even though he had virtually no acting experience, they saw he had huge star potential and would give the solo project enormous publicity."

Styles will next be seen in Christopher Nolan's World War II film "Dunkirk". The movie will mark Styles' first acting debut.

Like blockbuster "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", Han Solo movie will focus on the event before "Star Wars: A New Hope". Disney CEO Bob Iger has revealed that Han Solo film will see Han's life when he is 18 to 24. The movie will also explain how Han obtains his Millenium Falcon and how he meets Chewbacca.

Ehrenreich will play young Han Solo, who was magnificently portrayed by Harrison Ford in the original "Star Wars" movies and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". Donald Glover and Joonas Suotamo will play Han Solo's buddies Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca respectively. Woody Harrelson will portray Han's mentor.

Other cast members include Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Ian Kenny and Michael K. Williams. Han Solo movie is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on May 25, 2018.
