The Guardians of the Galaxy don't necessarily only consist of Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, as EP says that there will be new members by the end of 'Vol. 2'.

The Guardians of the Galaxy was formerly known to have five members, who consisted of Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel). However, the team line-up will most likely evolve by the end of the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2".
"GOTG 2" executive producer Jonathan Schwartz has teased about the possible new team line-up in the upcoming movie. "There will be new members by the end of the movie," says Schwartz. "And allies who maybe aren't with them at the end of the movie necessarily, [and who] go off on their own adventures. But the makeup of the Guardians will evolve," he adds.
Judging from Schwartz's statement, the Guardians seemingly are capable of growing and changing just like the Avengers. After all, the promotional stuff of "GOTG 2" has often included Yondu (Michael Rooker) and new character Mantis (Pom Klementieff). Some assume that they will possibly be included in the future Guardians of the Galaxy team line-up.
Set to the backdrop of "Awesome Mixtape #2", Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand. The movie is set to be released in the U.S. on May 5.
