AMC Renews 'Fear the Walking Dead' for Season 4 With New Showrunners

Ahead of its season 3 premiere, the spin-off to 'The Walking Dead' has been renewed for a season 4 on AMC, with Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg coming onboard as showrunners.

AceShowbiz - AMC has handed out an early renewal for "Fear the Walking Dead" for season 4, prior to its upcoming season 3 premiere. In addition to the renewal, new names, Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg ("Once Upon a Time"), have been attached as showrunners replacing Dave Erickson. Flagship showrunner Scott M . Gimple has also come onboard the prequel spin-off as an executive producer.

"We're very excited to continue the journey of Fear the Walking Dead, and truly look forward to working with the talented team of Andrew Chambliss, Ian Goldberg, and Scott Gimple," said president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV Joel Stillerman.

Chambliss and Goldberg added in a joint statement, "We are thrilled to be joining Fear the Walking Dead and couldn't be more excited to work alongside the wonderful team at AMC on this show. We love this universe and are truly honored to have the chance to contribute to it."

Golberg served as showrunner on "Once Upon a Time" Wonderland-set spinoff and collaborated with "OUAT" showrunners Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis to develop short-lived Freeform drama "Dead of Summer". Meanwhile, Chambliss' credits include "The Vampire Diaries" and "Dollhouse".

Starring Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis and Frank Dillane, "Fear the Walking Dead" is going off strong second half of second season, gaining an average 5.3 million viewers each episode, including 3.4 million adults 25-54 and 3 million adults 18-49 in live+3.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 3 premieres on Sunday, June 4 at 9 P.M. on AMC.
