AceShowbiz - Caitlyn Jenner has made a shocking revelation in her upcoming memoir. According to an excerpt obtained by RadarOnline.com, the 67-year-old former Olympian underwent sex reassignment surgery back in January, just two years after coming out as transgender.
Caitlyn would reportedly write about the surgery in "Secret of My Life", which is set to be released on April 25. "The surgery was a success, and I feel not only wonderful, but liberated," she wrote, adding, "I am telling you because I believe in candor. So all of you can stop staring. You want to know, so now you know. Which is why this is the first time, and the last time, I will ever speak of it."
She also explained her controversial decision to go under the knife, which was "complex" due to health risks. "So why even consider it? Because it's just a penis. It has no special gifts or use for me other than what I have said before, the ability to take a whiz in the woods," the excerpt read. "I just want to have all the right parts. I am also tired of tucking the damn thing in all the time."
Caitlyn, who earned a gold medal in the decathlon at the 1976 Olympic games in Montreal, went on writing about her condition after the surgery. "I am going to live authentically for the first time in my life," wrote the ex-husband of Kris Jenner. "I am going to have an enthusiasm for life that I have not had in 39 years since the Olympics, almost two thirds of my life."
In 2015, Caitlyn told Diane Sawyer in a "20/20" interview that she was confused with her gender identity. "I am a woman," she said at that time. "It's not like I've been dressing up like a woman, it's like I've spent my whole life dressing like a man." Now, two years later, the "I Am Cait" star will be speaking to Diane again for a special edition of the show on Friday, April 20.
