BBC has confirmed that John Simm will be making his return as the Master in the upcoming 10th season of "Doctor Who". He'll join Peter Capaldi who plays the Twelfth Doctor, Pearl Mackie (the new companion Bill Potts) and Matt Lucas (Nardole) on the series.

John says on the site, "I can confirm that it's true, thanks to the power of time travel I'm back. It's always a pleasure to work with this great team of people and I can't wait for you all to see what the Master gets up to in the next series."

"Nothing stays secret for long on 'Doctor Who' but you'll have to wait a little bit longer to see exactly what the Master is up to and how he makes his return to face the Doctor," writer and executive producer Steven Moffat adds. He continues, "It's been a huge pleasure to have fan favourites John Simm and Michelle Gomez face to face in the same role! It's not often you get to see a solo personality clash."

John was last featured as the Master on New Year's Day in 2010. Although how exactly he will return remains to be seen, it's certainly interesting to see him facing Michelle who has been playing a female version of the character, called Missy, since 2014. It marks the very first time for fans to get multi-Master story on the long-running sci-fi series.

Also set to return for the upcoming 10th season are the Daleks, the Ice Warriors and the Mondasian Cybermen, who returns for the first time in over 50 years. Besides the returning characters, an exciting line up of new faces and adversaries will be making their debut on the series which include adorable-but-deadly Emojibots and David Suchet as the Landlord.

"Doctor Who" returns to BBC and BBC America with season 10 premiere episode "The Pilot" on Saturday, April 15.
