The 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' actress will star in the upcoming election-themed installment of the FX series.

AceShowbiz - Billie Lourd is transferring to another Ryan Murphy TV series. The actress, who starred in the first two seasons of FOX's "Scream Queens", will join FX's anthology series "American Horror Story" for the upcoming seventh season.

Deadline first reported the news. Details of her character, however, are still kept under wraps. Lourd joins Billy Eichner who was recently added to the cast for season 7. He will reportedly play a heavily recurring character of "a close confidant of Sarah Paulson's character." Besides Paulson, Evan Peters will return in the election-themed season.

Despite taking on the 2016 Presidential Election, Murphy previously said that the election would be used as an allegory. He also stated that Paulson would not be playing Hillary Clinton.

"American Horror Story" season 7 will begin filming this May. The show has been renewed through season 9 by FX.

Lourd played Lieutenant Connix in 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", starring alongside her mother Carrie Fisher. She will reprise her role in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi", which is due out this year on December 15.
