The 'Kong: Skull Island' actress is set to lead a true-story movie about a women's rights activist who ran for President of the United States.

AceShowbiz - Brie Larson has landed a true-story project for Amazon. The Oscar-winning actress is expected to headline a biopic about Victoria Woodhull, the first female presidential candidate in the U.S. history.

Woodhull is a suffragist advocating women's rights including to vote and have the freedom to marry, divorce, and bear children without government interference. She ran for President of the United States in 1872.

Along with her sister, the activist became the first woman to operate a brokerage firm on Wall Street. They were also the first females to found a newspaper, Woodhull & Claflin's Weekly, which began publication in 1870.

Brie Larson became a critic darling for her role in "Room". She has just released a new movie "Kong: Skull Island". Her next movies include Marvel's first female superhero flick "Captain Marvel".
