AceShowbiz - With "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" dominating box office last December and "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" being released this year, there will be high expectations placed upon Han Solo movie which is set to be released in 2018. The spin-off, starring Alden Ehrenreich and Woody Harrelson, is expected to match if not surpass its predecessors.
Harrelson suggests that Han Solo movie will certainly meet people's expectations. During an interview with Collider, the actor, who will play Han Solo's mentor in the spin-off, suggests that the untitled stand-alone Star Wars Film II will be "the best one." Referring to director Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Harrelson says, "They're great."
He adds, "You know, any movie's only as good as the director or in this case directors, and so I have a suspicion, because if you look at the whole, all the movies, the backlog of every one of these movies, there's a lot of great stuff, but one might not be not as good with the writing in this or the acting in that or the directing in that." The actor then says, "This has great actors, great directors, great script, and I really feel like we're gonna make the best one."
The spin-off is currently filming and will feature Ehrenreich as young charismatic smuggler Han Solo, who was portrayed by Harrison Ford in original "Star Wars" movies and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". Plot detail hasn't been announced yet, but the spin-off will be set on the event before "Star Wars: A New Hope". The spin-off may focus on how Han Solo becomes a smuggler we know.
Also starring alongside Ehrenreich and Harrelson in Han Solo movie are Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Joonas Suotamo. The movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on May 28, 2018.
