'She encouraged it!' the 'Thinking Out Loud' hitmaker says of Taylor's reaction to him dating her famous female friends.

This is the perks of being Taylor Swift's pal. Ed Sheeran may not join the long list of the country-turned-pop-superstar's famous boyfriends, but he got to hook up with some of her equally famous female friends when he served as the opening act on the North American leg of her "Red" tour in 2013.
The "Lego House" hitmaker opens up about his experience in an interview with Rolling Stone. "Taylor's world is celebrity," he reveals. "I was this 22-year-old awkward British kid going on tour with the biggest artist in America, who has all these famous mates. It was very easy. ... I would often find myself in situations just kind of waking up and looking over and being like, 'How the f**k did that happen?' "
The 26-year-old British redhead, however, denies rumors that there was something romantic between him and Taylor. "I found that aspect quite lazy journalism," he says of the long denied rumors. "There wasn't any truth to it whatsoever."
In another interview with Howard Stern, Ed is asked if Taylor was mad when he dated her friends. "No, she encouraged it!" Ed says. "She's like the world's best wingman."
HollywoodLife.com additionally reveals Taylor's reaction to Ed's shocking confession. "Taylor Swift, 27, is definitely okay with Ed Sheeran, 26, having relations with some of her friends in her squad," a source says. "She feels that she would rather have them hook up with someone like Ed then with some random guy."
The so-called insider goes on claiming, "Taylor is not mad nor does she feel disrespected in any way," before adding, "She respects Ed and believes that he handled it like an adult."
Ed is now dating his former schoolmate Cherry Seaborn. He reveals to Rolling Stone that their first date was spent at an American Institute for Stuttering gala in 2015.
