Leading the pack of the nominees with 14 nods, it's no surprise that "La La Land" becomes the biggest winner at this year's Academy Awards. The Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone-starring musical film just won Best Director Award for Damien Chazelle at the Sunday night event.

"This was a movie about love, and I was lucky enough to fall in love while making it," said Chazelle in his acceptance speech.

Earlier on the night, the musical movie nabbed Best Cinematography for Linus Sandgren, thanks to his skills behind the lens. The movie also took home the Best Original Score Award and the Best Original Song one for its soundtrack "City of Star" at the event which took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The Best Original Score prize was presented to Justin Hurwitz. Hurwitz also shared the Best Original Song gong with Justin Paul and Benj Pasek for their work in creating music and lyrics of the song. Pasek said upon receiving the award, "This is dedicated to all the kids who sing in the rain and all of the moms who let them."

Later at the award show, it was revealed that Kenneth Lonergan of "Manchester by the Sea" was winner of Best Original Screenplay. The movie also earned Best Actor for its male lead Casey Affleck. He said in his acceptance speech, "I'm really proud to be a part of this community."
