AceShowbiz - Justin Timberlake knows how to start a party. The 36-year-old singer/actor opened the 2017 Academy Awards with a lively performance of his Oscar-nominated song "Can't Stop the Feeling" off the soundtrack to popular animated flick "Trolls".

Donning a sleek black-and-white tuxedo, Timberlake sang the song on his way to the Dolby Theater as he was accompanied by dancers while dancing all the way to the stage. He brought stars like Halle Berry and Nicole Kidman to their feet as they danced along to the up-beat song, while this year's nominees Naomie Harris and Jeff Bridges clapped and sang along to the performance.

During his performance, the "Suit and Tie" hitmaker delivered the track with some twists by covering a portion of Bill Wither's "Lovely Day" on the song's outro. "Hollywood, you look so lovely tonight, but do you feel lovely?" Timberlake asked the audience before transitioning to Wither's hit single. He even gave a shout out Denzel Washington, saying, "I know you know this, Denzel."

Timberlake wrapped up his performance by joining the high-profile audience to sing along to the song. He even danced with his wife Jessica Biel, who stunned in a glamorous gold dress.

After finishing his performance, Timberlake introduced host Jimmy Kimmel who joked about the "In Time" actor's opening performance. "On your behalf, I really hope the other guys from NSYNC were watching that performance because if they were, I think there's a really good chance they're going to let you back in the band," Kimmel said. "I do. Thank you very much Justin."
