AceShowbiz - After teasing the song with some preview clips over the past few weeks, Meghan Trainor has finally released her much-anticipated single "I'm a Lady". Produced by The Monsters x the Strangers, the girl power anthem was released on late Thursday, February 23.
The up-beat song finds Meghan singing about embracing all of her girlish quirks. "I know I laugh too loud/ And I might cry too much/ To all those judgy eyes/ I got a whole lotta love," she sings. In the chorus of the song, she's empowering women to be proud of who they are. She sings, " 'Cause I'm a lady/ Come on! I'm a, I'm a lady/ All my girls, show them you're a lady/ Tell the world, say that you're proud to be a lady."
Shortly after the song arrived, Meghan gave a shout out to her mom on Instagram. She wrote, "Thank you to my mama for helping me write this sassy/powerful song @kelliatrainor she won't admit it but she was by my side supporting me while I wrote it," along with a screengrab of her listening to the song.
"I'm a Lady" appears on the soundtrack to the upcoming "Smurfs: The Lost Village". Not only a soundtrack contributor, Meghan also voices the role of SmurfMelody in the animated flick.
