Tobey Maguire has apparently found himself a new lady to fill the void after his divorce last year. According to a new Life & Style report, the actor is now pursuing Emma Stone and has even scored her phone number.

A so-called source tells the publication that Maguire tried to flirt with the "La La Land" actress when they were both at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. "He was checking her out a lot, hoping she'd notice him," the source claims.

Maguire allegedly approached Stone eventually and started "showering her with cheesy compliments, telling her how all of Hollywood was in love with her." Unfortunately, the actress "didn't seem interested in him."

But she was still kind enough to give him her number and tell him they could meet for coffee before she ran off. "It was pretty obvious she was blowing him off," the source adds.

However, Gossip Cop can set the record straight and assure everyone that the Life & Style story is just the tabloid's imagination. The site has learned from a more reliable source close to Maguire that the event told above simply "never happened."

The "Spider-Man" actor was married to Jennifer Mayer for nine years before they announced their separation last October. Stone, meanwhile, was in a high-profile relationship with another Spider-Man depicter Andrew Garfield until 2015.
