Mischa Barton has reportedly been hospitalized for mental evaluation. Friends and neighbors were said to be extremely concerned about the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant after she exhibited some disturbing behavior on Thursday morning, January 26.
Sources with knowledge of the situation told TMZ that Barton was spotted hanging over the backyard fence of her home in West Hollywood, California. Only wearing a white shirt and a tie, the 31-year-old was allegedly rambling about her mother being a witch, the state of the world and "Ziggy Stardust."
Barton was also said at one point to fall backward off the fence and said, "Oh my God, it's over! I feel it, and it's angry!" Sheriff's deputies and firefighters later responded to a call for "a jumper or possible overdose." "The O.C." star was voluntarily transported to a hospital for mental evaluation.
No details are available regarding her condition as of now. Barton was previously placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold back in 2009.
