Soulja Boy Charged on Suspicion of Illegally Possessing Firearms

The 'Crank That (Soulja Boy)' hitmaker faced two felony weapons possession charges and one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property.

AceShowbiz - Illionis-born rapper Soulja Boy was charged on Monday, January 23 with illegal possession of guns in Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office, the rapper faced two felony weapons possession charges, including a possession of an assault weapon "Mini Draco AR-IS" and possession of a firearm "45-caliber Glock 21" in violation of probation.

The rapper was also charged with a misdemeanor count for receiving stolen property. The officer said that Soulja's Glock was stolen from a Huntington Beach Police Department vehicle. However, Soulja pleaded not guilty in arraignment hearing on Monday and will return to Los Angeles County Superior Court on February 28. He will face more than four years in prison if convicted as charged.

Soulja has had several run-ins with law enforcement over the years. The "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" spitter was arrested by Los Angeles police at his house on December 15 after police found firearms during his probation time. On December 18, 2014, Soulja was sentenced to two years of probation for carrying a loaded firearm in a public place. Meanwhile in 2011, Soulja was arrested on felony drugs and weapons charges in Temple, Georgia.

Soulja has been busy practicing for his upcoming boxing match with Chris Brown, which will take place in either Las Vegas or Los Angeles. The 26-year-old rapper is also gearing up to release his fourth studio album "Draco" on February 21.
