'Moonlight' receives four recognitions including Best Picture, 'Manchester by the Sea' gets three while 'La La Land' is snubbed.

AceShowbiz - "Moonlight" is a big winner at the annual National Society of Film Critics event. The movie collects at least four gongs including the coveted Best Picture, beating "Manchester by the Sea" and "La La Land". The two flicks end up as runners up.
The actor Mahershala Ali is named Best Supporting Actor, pushing aside Jeff Bridges ("Hell or High Water") and Michael Shannon ("Nocturnal Animals"). The director Barry Jenkins and the cinematographer James Laxton also get a prize each.
Meanwhile, Best Actor goes to Casey Affleck and Best Supporting Actress is handed to his "Manchester by the Sea" co-star Michelle Williams. The film additionally grabs Best Screenplay, beating "Moonlight" and "Hell or High Water".
"La La Land" gets snubbed, taking home zero prize despite its winning streak in the previously-announced pre-Oscar awards. Besides being a runner-up as a Best Picture, it is ranked second in Best Director and Best Cinematography.
