Marc Anthony is officially a widow for the third time. Ready for being single ahead of New Year's Eve, the 48-year-old singer filed for divorce from his estranged wife Shannon De Lima after two years of marriage.
Anthony filed the papers on December 16, just two days before he and the Venezuelan model went public with their split. In the documents which were obtained by TheDirty.com, the "Flor Palida" crooner stated his marriage was "irretrievably broken."
Anthony and the 28-year-old model began dating in 2012. They briefly split in the following year before rekindling their romance. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at his home in La Romana, Dominican Republic in 2014. They have no children together.
The couple separated last month, one day after he locked lips with his ex Jennifer Lopez at the Latin Grammys. They've already divided up their property in a confidential settlement after claiming their split was amicable.
"After much consideration, we have mutually and amicably decided to end our two year marriage," they said in a joint statement. "We ask for privacy during this difficult process, and no further comments will be made from either one of us about this personal matter."
