The 67-year-old musician made it clear that he had no intentions of participating in the president-elect's upcoming inauguration.

AceShowbiz - Music producer David Foster has declined an offer to organize president-elect Donald Trump's upcoming inauguration. The news comes a day after news outlet Page Six reported that he would be playing a "pivotal role" in organizing the January 20 inauguration.

"I was invited to participate and I politely declined. I have no idea where this story came from," Foster told PEOPLE in a statement. He added, "Neither me nor my manager was ever contacted by Page Six or any other media outlet."

The 67-year-old musician also took to Instagram on Saturday, December 17 to deny the rumor. He wrote, "Woke up this morning to a lot of news. For the record, I was asked to participate in the upcoming inauguration some time ago and I politely and respectfully declined. Any news outlet that is reporting otherwise is misinformed."

While Foster may not be involved, his longtime collaborator Andrea Bocelli has been rumored to take the stage. The blind Italian tenor is invited to join Jackie Evancho to welcome the president-elect to the White House. Bocelli has neither confirmed nor denied the reports.
