Reese Witherspoon is shaking things up for the soundtrack of animated film "Sing". The Academy Award-winner is partnering with Nick Kroll for an EDM rendition of Taylor Swift's hit single "Shake It Off".

The 2-minute rendition sets off with Reese's vocal as she sings, "I stay out too late, got nothing in my brain/ That's what people say, that's what people say." Nick continues singing, "I go on too many dates, but I can't make them stay/ At least that's what people say, that's what people say."

Taylor's pop hit gets EDM twist when Reese sings, "I never miss a beat, I'm lightning on my feet/ And that's what they don't see, that's what they don't see." Elsewhere on the song, there are also dubstep breakdowns when Reese and Nick sing, "Heartbreakers gonna break, fakers gonna fake/ I'm just gonna shake, shake it off, shake it off."

"Sing" soundtrack producer Harvey Mason, Jr. explained the idea behind the soundtrack to Billboard. He said, "People will already know a lot of songs in the film. And with that you always run the risk of failing when covers are compared to the originals. However, we've done some unique things here so that people hopefully will walk away thinking of these as new songs."

Reese and Nick's "Shake It Off" joins previously released "Set It All Free", a song performed by Scarlett Johansson. The soundtrack album is out now and it features classic songs performed by the film's main cast and a brand new song "Faith" performed by Ariana Grande and Stevie Wonder.

"Sing" follows Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) who throws a singing competition in efforts to save his town's dying theater. In the upcoming animated musical, Reese lends her voice to Rosita, a mother of 25 piglets who wants to be a singer, while Nick lends his pipes to Gunther, a talented pig. The film is set for a December 21 release in U.S. theaters.
