AceShowbiz - Before their messy breakup, Mariah Carey was head over heels in love with James Packer. She wanted to marry him so bad she was willing to beg her ex Nick Cannon to divorce her, according to a new Page Six report.
Mariah and her ex-husband announced their split in 2014 and didn't finalize their divorce until recently reportedly because Nick kept refusing to sign the divorce papers. The publication's source claims that he finally changed his mind after Mimi personally called him and told him, "I really want to get married. Will you sign these papers?"
"Nick was cool and said, 'I'm not going to stand in your way. I'll sign the papers.' He signed in September, because Mariah and James wanted to get married in early 2017," the source shared.
However, Mariah and James broke up shortly after her divorce from Nick was finalized. She's currently demanding $50 million settlement from the Australian billionaire. That amount of money is reportedly what he promised her in a marriage prenup that was never signed.
Mariah wasn't the only one who really wanted the wedding to happen. James himself had expressed desire to tie the knot with her soon in some love-filled emails sent just a few weeks before their split. "I'm in love with you and can't wait to get married and be together forever," read one email. He had even referred to her as Mrs. Packer.
