So This Is Why Lindsay Lohan Speaks With That Weird New Accent
Celebrity

LiLo says that her new way of speaking is influenced by six languages she's already fluent in and is currently learning, including French, Turkish and Italian.

Lindsay Lohan defends her much-talked-about new accent. After a video emerged showing her speaking to reporters in Greece like a non-native speaker, the former child actress explained the reason behind it to Daily Mail.

Lindsay claimed that the languages she knows and is learning really influenced the way she speaks in the video, taken at the launch of her nightclub a few days ago. "It's a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn," she shared.

"I've been learning different languages since I was a child. I'm fluent in English and French, can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic," she continued. The 30-year-old star also joked with Daily Mail on Twitter about what she should call her new accent.

"What should I call me new accent? I'm thinking #LILLOHAN," she said, but ended up letting her fans be the ones picking a name for it.

Lindsay was ridiculed on social media after the video surfaced on Tuesday, November 1. "Lol...she's speaking as if English is her second language," a Twitter user commented. "Is she trying to sound Greek? She looks horrible and is just a sad case," another added.
