CMT has debuted the first promo for "Nashville" season 5. Featuring the main cast, including Hayden Panettiere, Connie Britton, Clare Bowen, Charles Esten and Chris Carmack, it shows that just like us, their characters who are country music stars are also flawed.

"We all break. That's what makes us human," says Britton's Rayna Jaymes. Panettiere's Juliette adds, "We tape ourselves together so that no one can see our flawed hearts." Bowen's Scarlett O'Connor chimes in, "But not all the break are broken."

Scenes of Juliette breaking down in tears and getting physical with a fan, as well as Esten's Deacon Claybourne punching a mirror also flash in the video. "I've left a trail of destruction, hurt people I've loved, let down the people who love me," Deacon says.

Met at CMT's Seventh Annual Artists of the Year celebration, Esten told E! News about Deacon's relationship with his wife Rayna, "There's a lot going on, but perhaps not as much super dramatically or an incident, it's just about what's going on between the two of us. We came through that rough spot and now we get to see Deacon and Rayna moving forward from where we ended up last season. I'm having a ball doing those scenes with her."

He also promised that there would be "more music."

"Nashville" season 5 premieres Thursday, January 5 at 9 P.M. ET/PT on CMT. Sam Palladio (Gunnar Scott) and Lennon Stella (Maddie Conrad) are also among the returning cast.
