A new picture of Saban's "Power Rangers" has surfaced online ahead of the first footage's screening at the New York Comic-Con this Saturday. It offers the first look at Red Ranger's Power Sword which will be wielded by Dacre Montgomery's Jason in the upcoming movie reboot.

The weapon shown in the image, which was shared on the Power Rangers NOW Twitter account, is similar to the original Power Sword, but the new version sports a teardrop-shaped blade. Combined with stylish red color scheme, the sword has a circular grip and handguard base.

In the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers", each warrior has his/her iconic weapon. The Blue Ranger uses a double-ended trident and the Black Ranger has an axe/gun combination. Meanwhile, a bow and arrow are for the Pink Ranger and a pair of daggers is for the Yellow Ranger.

The action movie is directed by Dean Israelite. It also stars Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Ludi Lin and Becky G who are set to play Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Billy the Blue Ranger, Zack the Black Ranger and Trini the Yellow Ranger respectively. Bryan Cranston portrays the wise Zordon, Elizabeth Banks is the villainous alien witch Rita Repulsa and Bill Hader provides the voice of Alpha 5.

The film follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove and the world are on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, the heroes discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet, but to do so they have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

"Power Rangers" is coming to U.S. theaters on March 24, 2017.
