Leave it to Olivia Pope to fix Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's issues. Well, of course we mean the real-life Olivia Pope. The actress' team has enlisted the help of crisis manager Judy Smith, who inspired Kerry Washington's character on ABC's series "Scandal", amid her ongoing divorce with the actor.

Sources tell PEOPLE that Smith is "consulting" with Jolie's team as the actress continues to negotiate divorce details with Pitt. "Judy has been asked to consult with those working with Angelina on divorce negotiations," says a source close to the situation.

"Jude and her firm have a long history of handling issue that have unfortunately garnered too much attention in the public eye, and she knows how to push towards resolutions that are swift and discreet," the source adds. Another source tells E! News of Smith, "She is typically a calming non-combative influence. Certainly seems like someone to give better advice than what she has been apparently been getting."

PEOPLE also reports that Jolie and Pitt try to reach agreement behind closed doors, but one of the biggest issues is the custody of their six children. The "Maleficent" actress requested joint legal custody but primary physical custody, with visitation for Pitt in her divorce papers, but the 52-year-old actor reportedly will push for shared physical custody of their kids.

It's reported that Pitt hasn't seen his children since the divorce news broke last week. "He really wants to see the kids and to work out an arrangement that is best for them," reveals a so-called insider. "[He] wants to work things out privately and amicably."
