AceShowbiz - Johnathon Schaech recently expressed his interest in tackling the role of Marvel's character Wolverine. During a panel at Heroes and Villains FanFest in San Jose on Saturday, August 27, the 46-year-old actor also revealed that the said Marvel character was his inspiration to start acting.

"If I could play any character, it'd be Wolverine," he told the crowd at the event while promoting the upcoming season of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow", in which he returns as Jonah Hex, a former Confederate soldier who becomes a bounty hunter. He went on to share, "I feel like he's why I wanted to start acting."

The clawed mutant has always been played for seventeen years by Hugh Jackman, who recently shaved off his sideburns after wrapping the filming on "The Wolverine 3". The role of Wolverine will likely soon be available for Schaech as the follow-up to "The Wolverine" will be the last Wolverine solo film for Jackman.

It wouldn't be the first time for DC or Marvel to double dip their actors. Previously, Ryan Reynolds starred in the critically beloved "Deadpool" years after starring in "Green Lantern". Meanwhile, Ben Affleck, who starred in 2003's "Daredevil, The Movie", took the role of Batman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". Even the last actor to play Jonah Hex before Schaech, Josh Brolin, takes the role of villainous Thanos in the MCU.

Schaech can be seen in the second season of "Legends of Tomorrow" on Thursday, October 13 at 8/7c on The CW. Meanwhile, Jackman makes his last appearance as the clawed mutant in the final Wolverine solo film which is set for a March 3, 2017 release in U.S. theaters.
