Brett Dier, who plays Jane's new husband Michael, has joined other cast members for their first table read of the season.

"Jane the Virgin" cast is back at work for season 3. In some pictures posted on Twitter and Instagram, Justin Baldoni, Jaime Camil, Yael Grobglas and Ivonne Coll reunited for their first table read of the season, but one face surprisingly returned as well.
Brett Dier, who plays Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) new husband Michael Cordero Jr., was pictured with his co-stars during the table read, sparking speculation that he's still alive. Michael, a 29-year-old detective, was shot by someone who looks like his former partner, just hours after their wedding.

While Michael's fate will only be revealed when the third season airs this fall, it has been revealed that Jane will face another problem. Her new mother-in-law's presence in Miami won't make things easier for Jane during the difficult time. "Not even shared grief is enough to bring them together, and the two will butt heads as they struggle to pick up the pieces," so TV Guide reported.
"Jane the Virgin" season 3 premieres Monday, October 17 at 9 P.M. on The CW.
