Irina and Viktor Yelchin have filed probate papers in Los Angeles and revealed their plan to sue Fiat Chrysle, the company behind the jeep that killed their actor son.

Anton Yelchin left no will before he died in a tragic car accident in his Studio City, California home a little over a month ago. The "Star Trek Beyond" actor, however, left behind around $1.4 million estate which his parents are now seeking to control, says TMZ.

Yelchin's mom and dad, Irina and Viktor Yelchin, filed on Friday, July 29 probate papers in Los Angeles. According to the court documents, the late actor, who's not married and had no children, had $731,000 in equity on his Sherman Oaks home and had $641,000 in personal property.

As previously reported, Yelchin died in front of his house after his 2015 Grand Cherokee Jeep rolled backward in his driveway and pinned him against his security gate. Prior to the accident, carmaker Fiat Chrysler had recalled the car following complaints that the gear shifters confused drivers, making them think their car is in park while it's actually in neutral.

Yelchin's parents believe that the issue was what caused their son's death, so they're now considering to sue Fiat Chrysler, manufacturer ZF North America and car dealership chain AutoNation.

Asked for their comment on the Yelchins' plan to sue them, Fiat Chrysler said in a statement to New York Daily News that the company "extends its deepest sympathies to the Yelchin family for their tragic loss." They said on Monday that they hadn't been served.
