JoJo clearly had a rough time working for her previous record label Blackground Music. As a lot of her fans know, the singer and the company were involved in legal drama that kept her from releasing new music years ago. Now, she revealed in a new interview with Popsugar that she was also forced to adopt unhealthy eating habit as she was required to lose weight quickly.

"Here's something that I agreed to do that ended up messing with me psychologically. I was under a lot of pressure from a company that I was previously working with and they wanted me to lose weight fast," she told the publication. "So, they got me with a nutritionist and had me on all these supplements and I was injecting myself."

The "Love Hurts" songbird explained that the injections made her only eat 500 calories a day. "This is a common thing 'the girls' do all the way - it makes your body only need certain calories, so I ate 500 calories a day," she said. "It was the most unhealthy thing I've ever done."

JoJo, who ended up "gaining all the weight back," said that she felt terrible about herself and was upset that she even "subscribed to the standard they wanted me to be at." But she tried hard to lose weight because she thought her album wouldn't come out if she didn't do it.

"I felt like, 'If I don't do this, my album won't come out.' Which it didn't! So it's not like it even worked!" she shared.

JoJo was finally released from Blackground Music a few years ago. She's now readying her new album, "Mad Love", which is set to arrive on October 14.
