Stephen Colbert returned as his Caesar Flickerman-inspired alter ego as he kicked off "The Late Show" week of Democratic National Convention coverage. In the new "The Hunger Games" spoof, "Hungry for Power Games", which aired on Monday night, July 25, the host and his pet weasel Caligula reported from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, where the Democratic National Convention is held.

After giving a short tour of the building, he tried to repeat his joke from the Republican National Convention last week and crash the DNC stage, but he couldn't past the security even though he showed his "podium pass." He tried to negotiate with the security by asking them to allow only his pet weasel to be on the stage, but they didn't even respond.

Colbert then brought out his big gun, calling House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi for help. She showed up with some kids, but the security still wouldn't let him be on stage. After several other attempts, the comedian pulled his last trick. He pretended to shoot a CBS promo and ran onto the stage.

"God bless America! God Bless freedom! God bless freedom of the press! God bless the Democratic National Committee! God bless podiums!" he said once he reached the stage. He then bragged, "I'm not one to gloat, but I won!"
