The long wait may be more excruciating now with the release of "The Walking Dead" season 7 trailer at San Diego Comic-Con. Not revealing who Negan's victim is, the video shows more footage featuring the villain and hints at how scary he is.
There are glimpses of Carol and Morgan who are safe but separated from the rest of the group. Making us even more eager to see the new season is the first look at King Ezekiel, the leader of a community called the Kingdom, and his tiger Shiva.
"The Walking Dead" returns Sunday, October 23 on AMC. Jeffrey Dean Morgan who plays Negan got into character when he showed up on the stage at Comic-Con, holding Lucille and asking everyone, "Are we pissing our pants yet?"
Andrew Lincoln admitted "it's a really s**tty start to the season... but I think we're headed towards one of the biggest showdowns we've had on this show since Terminus. So hang in there with us." Thus, it's no surprise that Rick would be in a bad place this season.
As for Rick and Michonne's budding romance, Danai Gurira thinks their bond goes way back in season 3 when she connected with his son Carl. "She ... bonds with his son, which is really reviving for her ... she gets to put down her armor," the actress said.
Executive producer Robert Kirkman, meanwhile, said of the new season, "It's definitely worth the wait. It's a fantastic premiere to a fantastic season."
Earlier on Friday, July 22, AMC presented "The Walking Dead" spin-off "Fear the Walking Dead" and debuted a trailer for the remainder of season 2. It shows the new locations as the group is now separated. Nick is alone on the road, but after encountering some problems he arrives at a safe place. His mother, meanwhile, ends up at an abandoned building.
The show returns Sunday, August 21.
