Marvel's fans may not want to miss a panel for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con. Director James Gunn promised that those who attend the studio's presentation will be treated to a sneak peek at the movie.

"You might get something if you go to our presentation at San Diego Comic Con... other than that, it'll be a while," he tweeted on Monday, July 4, before adding in another post, "Because footage created for Comicon is generally for one viewing only. Usually the VFX aren't finished."

Gunn returns as director for the sequel after his successful directing stint for 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy" that became a box office hit upon its release. Filming has wrapped, but the new movie will not arrive until May 5, 2017 in the U.S.

Chris Pratt is back as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana reprises her role as Gamora, Dave Bautista returns as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan once again portrays Nebula, Vin Diesel returns as the voice of Groot, and Bradley Cooper still lends his voice to Rocket Raccoon. New cast members include Pom Klementieff, who's set to play Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, Kurt Russell and Nathan Fillion.
