HBO has finally released the first promo for "Westworld" after the new series suffered a setback during production earlier this year. Debuted during the latest episode of "Game of Thrones" on Sunday, June 19, the video features gory scenes, bloods and nudity as the scenes keep switching between a futuristic lab and western world.
The teaser trailer doesn't do much in explaining the plotline, but if you're familiar with the original work, Michael Crichton's 1973 film of the same name, you know that it's set in a futuristic theme park populated with robot characters, one of which tortured the guests of the park.
The TV series is described as a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin. The show boasts strong ensemble cast that includes Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Miranda Otto and Rodrigo Santoro.
The new series is slated to debut in October.
