'Mr. Robot' star Rick Gonzalez is tapped as DC Comics vigilante Wild Dog on 'Arrow', while Nick Zano lands the role of Dr. Nate Heywood a.k.a. Steel on 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow'.

AceShowbiz - "Arrow" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" are adding a new hero each to the packs in the next season. The former show has cast "Mr. Robot" and "Rush" star Rick Gonzalez as DC Comics vigilante Wild Dog for its upcoming fifth season.

In the comics, Wild Dog is the alter ego of Jack Wheeler, a former collegiate football player with a promising future ahead. After an injury, he left his dream behind and served in the Marine Corps. He later fell in love with a woman he met in night classes and got engaged to her. He became a vigilante after his fiancee was killed by the mafia.

According to EW, on the TV series Wild Dog is a new vigilante in Star City whose reckless and cocksure nature prompts Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) to take him under his wing. He will likely be the new member of Team Arrow, after most of the members took different paths in the fourth season finale.

As for "Legends of Tomorrow", it has tapped "Minority Report" actor Nick Zano to take the role of Dr. Nate Heywood in the second season. In the comic books, Nate becomes Steel/Citizen Steel, a former member of the Justice League of America.

On the show, Nate is a historian whose grandfather was Commander Steel, a member of the Justice Society of America, Deadline reports. It's unconfirmed if Nate will assume the mantle of his grandfather's superheroic role, but that's highly possibly considering the theme of the show.

It was previously reported that "Legends of Tomorrow" would add a new incarnation of Vixen, but an actress has yet to be announced to tackle the role. Megalyn E.K. a.k.a. Megalyn Echikunwoke who has guest starred as the character on "Arrow" won't reprise the role on "Legends of Tomorrow" due to her commitments to other projects.
