As the world condemns the Orlando mass shooting which targeted gay people, new report emerges speculating that Christina Grimmie's murder could also be a hate crime. While police continue seeking the killer's motive, it's reported that the 22-year-old singer could be killed because of her Christian faith.

According to Santa Monica Observer, police have examined the content of the shooter 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl's cellphone and computer records which apparently hint that he killed Grimmie because of her faith.

The former "The Voice" contestant was indeed an outspoken Christian and often posted entries on her website talking about her Christian faith. "Sometimes God allows terrible things to happen in your life and you don't know why. But that doesn't mean you should stop trusting Him," she wrote in 2013. In 2012, she also posted on YouTube her cover of "In Christ Alone".

According to sources, the post was "too much" for Loibl, who then traveled from St. Petersburg to Orlando to attend Grimmie's concert on Friday night, June 10. He shot the singer after the show, before being tackled by her brother Marcus and then killing himself.

Responding to rumor about the killer's motive, Orlando police spokesperson Wanda Miglio has said, "I have received no information about that rumor."

In other news, PEOPLE reports that Grimmie will be laid to rest later this week in a private funeral in her home state of New Jersey. "It's just going to be a small, intimate gathering for her family and close friends," says a source.

On Monday night, hundreds of mourners attended a vigil at Evesham's memorial complex in New Jersey to pray for Grimmie.
